Description

Roan Mountain State Park is working to restore the campground area after the river floods.  The floods left a great deal of refuse in along the river banks and throughout the shores of the Doe River.  On Tuesday, October 8th from 9am-12pm, Park Ranger Phil Hylen is looking for up to 30 volunteers to aid with the cleanup of the Doe River shores throughout the Campground area while making sure the Tom Gray Trail is clean and ready to be enjoyed by hikers and fishermen once the campground re-opens.

Volunteers will meet at the Campground entrance where they will meet their host, Ranger Phil Hylen.  The park will provide trash bags, gloves, and water to all volunteers but we ask everyone to bring any snacks they may need, good hiking shoes, and, if available, any waders/water wading clothes up to waist deep at most.
