Come join our park staff on Friday, June 21st for the first of two opportunities to satisfy volunteer hours for the TN Promise program. This volunteer day is specifically for students who need TN Promise Volunteer hours with the first session 8am-Noon and the second session 1pm-5pm. We will be working on trail projects for both volunteer sessions which will include walking/hiking up to 1 mile while also pushing wheelbarrows of mulch, carrying tools and/or hauling in trail materials such as 6x6 timbers or trexx decking. We will provide all tools including gloves for both events and lunch between Noon-1pm thanks to generous funding from Friends of Radnor Lake.
Each session will be limited to 20 student volunteers and registration is required for each session. Parking is very limited, so we advise any volunteers to plan on arriving a few minutes early and please carpool if possible. We ask that all registered student volunteers be on time for each session (8am or 1pm) to attend our safety orientation at the beginning of each work session, consideration for other volunteer’s time and efficient use of our ranger staff time. Please note that anyone late to either of these scheduled volunteer times will be unable to participate or receive credit for attending.
Anyone with questions, please contact Lyndy Maness at lyndy.maness@tn.gov
