Description

Roan Mountain State Park is looking for trail volunteers to help flag new trail tread for a 2-mile back country trail being established behind the Roan Mountain State Park Visitor Center.  Up to 5 registered volunteers will be trained on using the equipment needed to flag new trail and work alongside park ranger Philip Hylen.  The planning and flagging of the new trail route will have volunteer opportunities each month though November of 2023.  Be sure to register for each shift you are interested in working.  Volunteers will meet at the Visitor Center Porch at the start of each shift.  Please bring a water bottle, rain gear, and good hiking clothes.  All tools and safety equipment will be provided by the park.
