Did you ever want to be a Ranger? Here's your opportunity to live the dream and work hands on with real Park Rangers on resource management projects to preserve and protect your favorite state park! This exciting new program will be offered the 2nd Saturday of each month through 2023. Park Rangers will share stories, give unique insight into what it takes to be a Ranger, and work with participants on various projects including trail building, bridge construction, habitat improvement, exotic species removal, etc. Volunteer Ranger Days will be from 8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. starting at the Park Office. Projects will vary. Please wear weather appropriate work clothing.
June 2023 Project - We will work on connecting the re-routed Red Leaves Trail from Pipeline Trail to the old Red Leaves section west of the 2021 tornado damage and recent timber salvage. Wear sturdy shoes or boots, bring snacks and water, and prepare for the weather.
Registration is limited to 30 participants.
Volunteer Days are co-sponsored by the Friends of Natchez Trace State Park.
Volunteer Day participants will earn 4 service hours for TN Promise, Scholarships, Clubs, etc. Kids under 16 must be accompanied by an Adult.
