We are looking for living history interpreters for our living history event on Saturday, May 6th. We will focus on 1870s and any volunteers will need to bring their own clothing for the event.
We will spend the day focusing on the everyday farm life of the Hull family. There will be living history demonstrations on blacksmithing, plowing, historical food demonstration, animal shearing, and spinning. Newberry & Sons will be demonstrating from tree to chair: the art of chair caning. Sue Duncan will have her animals demonstrate animal shearing to spinning.
We will be weaving and crocheting in the cabin. There will be a cooking demonstration throughout the day.
There will be plenty of activities for the kids!
Throughout the day, there will be various programs on the different parts of a sharecropper farm in the 19th Century. Join us for an informative and exciting event!
