At Old Stone Fort we have the pleasure of protecting one of the world's most biodiverse ecosystems, the Duck River. This river provides drinking water to our community, electricity to thousands of Tennesseans, and it offers endless enjoyment to our park visitors during these hot summer months. However, this enjoyment and high-water events bring pollution in the form of garbage to our river and the wildlife that call it home.
Join us on August 27 at 11:00am to help our park rangers clean the Duck! We will work together to keep this amazing river clean and protect the numerous species that call it home. With your help we hope to collect as much trash as we can to keep the Duck River's waters beautiful for us all to enjoy!
We will meet at the park museum and visitor center at 11:00am to head out to the river. The park will provide trash bags, gloves, and water to our participants. All donations for this river cleanup will go towards our conservation and education efforts in the park to protect this amazing resource!
