National Public Lands Day

In 1948 Roy Acuff, The King of Country Music, purchased the Dunbar Cave resort with the purpose of making a country music park. The main venue of this venture was an arena where he and other Grand Old Opry stars performed. Though the days of musical performances at Dunbar Cave are long past, we try to honor that history by remembering it. This volunteer opportunity will involve removing vegetation on the site of Acuff's arena to prepare for new interpretive panels going up in the near future.
