Roan Mountain State Park is looking for 5 volunteers to assist with our 39th annual Youth Trout Tournament being held on Saturday, May 7th. Volunteers would assist the park staff from 7am-1pm starting at the park amphitheater. Volunteers will act as shore assistance for families fishing with youth ages 4-14 along the Doe River. Duties would include helping direct families to and from fishing areas to the amphitheater, assisting with parking, and alerting staff and park rangers to any issues found during the event.
Registered volunteers will meet Ranger Phil Hylen and the Elks Lodge Staff at the Amphitheater at 7:00AM for sign-in and an event briefing. Parking and registration will occur afterwards until 9:00AM when fishing will begin and end at 1:00PM.
