The Duck Island Volunteer Workday will focus on removing large invasive plants to help restore the natural habitat. This is a physically demanding activity, and volunteers will be assisting park staff by dragging cut brush to designated drop-off areas. The event will run for three hours, but volunteers are welcome to participate for any amount of time they are able to offer. A light breakfast, coffee, and water will be provided. All volunteers must wear closed-toe shoes, and the use of safety glasses and gloves is strongly encouraged, with protective items available on-site. This event will play a vital role in completing the final phase of a project we have worked diligently on over the past year, and your participation is essential to helping us successfully finish this effort.
