Scott's Gulf Wilderness staff needs your help!
This volunteer opportunity will be inside Lost Creek Cave.
Participants must be comfortable being in an cave environment for several hours, must be able to walk across rocky, slick, uneven surfaces, and need to have the ability to climb up and down rock ledges. This opportunity will include graffiti removal throughout the cave.
For this volunteer opportunity, please wear closed toe, sturdy hiking boots and pants. Please bring a good headlamp and 2 other sources of light, work gloves, water, a light lunch, and extra clothes and shoes to change into after the trip to successfully decontaminate after tour. Coveralls are a good alternative to wear over clothing to prevent having to change for decontamination process. Feel free to bring your own cave helmet if you have one, if not, one will be provided for you.

If you need to complete community service or volunteer service hours to fulfill a requirement for scholarships, graduation, fraternity/sorority obligations, etc., this is a great opportunity to get those hours. Volunteers should plan on meeting park staff at the Lost Creek Falls Trailhead (3990 Whites Cave Road, Sparta, TN 38583) at 10:00am. SIR Lacy will brief all volunteers promptly at 10:00AM so please arrive on time for the briefing.
