Join Cumberland Trail State Park Ranger Harris for a volunteer work day where we will be focusing our efforts on removal of invasive plant species from the area above the Head of the Sequatchie River.
Invasive plant species can be difficult to remove from an area, but it is ecologically important to remove them to help native plants, shrubs, and trees survive rather than be outcompeted for resources.
The work will consist of cutting and removing invasive plant species, including privet and multiflora rose.
Tools will be provided. Please wear comfortable clothes, close toe shoes and pack a sack lunch with water.
Dogs are welcome but must remain on a leash the entire visit. Please clean up after your pets.
