Join park staff on Endangered Species day to start prepping areas along Mill Creek for River Cane transplanting. Canebrakes once were found throughout the Southeast and are now listed as critically endangered ecosystems. Volunteers can expect to use loppers and hand shears to remove lower and midstory plants to make room for River Cane. Meet at the bathrooms below the Hwy 136 Dam. Be sure to wear appropriate clothing for days weather conditions. Bring water and snacks to sustain yourself.
