Description

Roan Mountain State Park is working to restore from the Peg Leg pull off to Cates Hole after the river floods. The floods left a great deal of refuse in along the river banks and throughout the shores of the Doe River. On Sunday, November 3rd from 1pm-4pm, Park Ranger Marco Rodriguez is looking for up to 30 volunteers to aid with the cleanup of the Doe River shores between the two fishing holes to be enjoyed by park guests and fisherman alike!

Volunteers will MEET AT THE VISITOR CENTER parking lot where they will meet their host, Ranger Marco Rodriguez. The park will provide trash bags, gloves, and water to all volunteers, but we ask everyone to bring any snacks they may need, good hiking shoes, and, if available, any waders/water wading clothes up to waist deep at most.
