Description

Roan Mountain State Park is working to restore the cabins to Miller Farmstead section of the Doe River after the Hurricane Helene floods.  The floods left a great deal of refuse in along the river banks and throughout the shores of the Doe River.  On Saturday, November 2nd from 1:00-4:00pm, Park Ranger Phil Hylen is looking for up to 30 volunteers to aid with the cleanup of the Doe River shores across from Picnic Shelter 1 and along the Moonshiner's Run Trail from the cabins to the Miller Farmstead area to be enjoyed by park guests and fisherman alike!

Volunteers will meet at the Cabins overflow parking lot where they will meet their host, Ranger Phil Hylen.  The park will provide trash bags, gloves, and water to all volunteers but we ask everyone to bring any snacks they may need, good hiking shoes, and, if available, any waders/water wading clothes up to waist deep at most.
