The National Environmental Education Foundation (NEEF) is celebrating 30 years of National Public Lands Day this year! It is the nation's largest single-day volunteer event for public lands. Established in 1994 and held annually on the fourth Saturday in September, this celebration brings out thousands of volunteers to help restore and improve public lands around the country.
Join Rock Island State Park in removing invasive species from the tent campground, picnic, and playground area of the park in celebration of National Public Lands Day. Sign up and meet us at the Area 2, Picnic & Playgrounds parking lot at 10:00 AM. Wear comfortable close-toed shoes, bring water, and a snack. We will take care of the rest! Thank you for your volunteerism.
