Looking for experience in natural resources management? Excited to learn about a career as a Park Ranger? Then join Rock Island State Park for some early spring invasive species management, flora-fauna surveys, and other tasks that keep our park healthy!
The best way to get experience is to spend some time over spring break volunteering with people working in your field. Volunteerism leads to experience, experience leads to job interviews, and interviews lead to positions!
Be prepared to work hard in warm or cold conditions. The park is rugged, steep, and you may encounter stinging insects, venomous snakes, ticks, mites, poison ivy, and other nuisances common to field work this time of year.
If you are interested in wildlife habitat management, state park operations, or becoming a Park Ranger then please join us this Sunday March 13, from 9 AM - Noon!
