Join Roan Mountain State Park during the Summer season of 2026 as we work to remove invasive Chinese Privet bushes from the park forests. Across the summer, seasonal resource technicians Oliver Gragg and Nikolai Stump will lead volunteer work shifts across different sites throughout the park where volunteers will help by pulling young Privet saplings as well as assisting with the carrying of mature plant brush to pick-up piles.
Each work shift is limited to 10 volunteers and will always meet at the Visitor Center Parking Lot where restrooms and water is available. All gloves, eye protection, and tools will be provided by the park, but volunteers are asked to bring refillable water bottles, good work clothes, and sturdy, closed-toe shoes. See shifts for dates and times.
