We are excited to partner with the American Hiking Society (AHS) to celebrate National Trails Day® on June 5th, 2021! Millions of people have found physical, mental, and emotional restoration on trails during the pandemic. Now it's your chance to give back and help care for the Tennessee State Park trail system, helping more people in Tennessee enjoy trails and quality green space.
We will be meeting at the Rocky Fork Field (on the left before entering the major park entrance gate) at 9:00am. There is a porta-potty available at Rocky Fork for use. Please bring your own water bottle and snacks, but extra water coolers will be provided. We will be helping shiny up one of Frozen Head's hidden, "secret" trails. We will be removing invasive multiflora rose plants that have taken it over, along with cutting back general overgrowth, replacing outdated signage, and installing a small walkway. This is one of Frozen Head's easier trails, so this work day will be great for any age or ability. Its easy access to the trailhead will make it easy for people to leave early if needed. Please bring gloves, but they can be provided if necessary.
