Join us to remove invasive species from a home site we have on the park. This project is to clean open up the home site to eventually be able to open it up to the public. We will be removing privet from around the home and improving access to the house. You will need to wear close toe shoes, wear clothing appropriate for the weather. You will be using tools to cut, spray and pull privet from the ground. Some of the area maybe be wet with water due to a creek. So you will want to wear shoes and clothes that you don't mind getting wet and dirty. If you have work gloves you are encouraged to bring them, we have some but supplies are limited. You need to also bring water and snacks that you may want. Lunch will be provided by the Friends of Edgar Evins State Park.
We will meet at the home site, to get there you will enter the park just past park entrance sign there is a road on the right take that. You will enter through a gate and go about a half of a mile, house will be on you right. House is at he dead end of that road. Park is limited so car pull if you can.
If you can not be there for the whole day, don't worry come for as long as you can. People needing community service hours or TN Promise hours are welcome to join us.
