Highland Rim Trail: Maintenance/re-route Continued

Calendar Happens On Mar 12, 2025
Time 9AM-12PM
Expired

Description

Join Park Ranger Justin Vaughn for a Trail Work Day!

Meet at the park office to assist with trail maintenance or the continuation of the Highland Rim Trailhead reroute. We'll be using hand tools like mattocks and McLeods to dig out a new section of the trail.

Depending on progress, we will either:

  • Continue working on the reroute next to the park office or
  • Move approximately ¾ of a mile down the trail to address issues on another section

Either way, the work will involve digging new trail or repairing existing sections.

What to Bring:

✔ Water and snacks

✔ Weather-appropriate clothing (layering recommended)

✔ Closed-toe shoes required (boots recommended)

✔ Work gloves and safety glasses (if you have them; limited supplies available)

If we’re working by the park office, restrooms will be close by, and no long hike will be needed to reach the site.

Thank you for helping us maintain and improve the trails—we hope to see you there!
