Our Three Sisters Garden (corn, squash, and beans) is a thousand year old planting technique developed by indigenous people to maximize output and minimize maintenance. Corn stalks provide a pole for the beans to climb. Beans replace soil nitrogen used by the corn. Squash leaves shade out weeds and help retain soil moisture. Unlike typical row crops, the Three Sisters are grown together in small mounds of soil. We need your help to place fresh topsoil and construct the mounds to ready for planting. This will involve shoveling the soil into place and incorporating fertilizer into the mounds.
