Tennessee Promise provides students the chance to attend tuition-free any of the state’s community colleges, colleges of applied technology or other eligible institutions offering an associate degree program. One of the requirements to maintain eligibility is to complete eight hours of community service in front of each semester. This is our opportunity to meet and make connections with specifically young adults, many who may have not been to our parks before! Although targeted to help Tennessee Promise scholars, our programs are open and accept help from any volunteers who wish to participate.
For this event, volunteers will assist Ranger Wray and Seasonal Ranger Mabry in painting a small structure that was once used as a horse barn at Cove Lake. Paint and supplies will be provided. Participants should wear clothes that they do not mind to get dirty.
Participants under 18 require a Liability Waiver signed by a guardian. Participants under 13 must be accompanied by an adult.
The event will last from 9 AM until 1 PM.
Registration is recommended but not required.
Participants will meet at the Park Visitor Center and then proceed to the work site after check in.
